Heat Exchanger
General Features
  • Calculations in English or Metric Units
Tubesheets
  • Calculations for the following tubesheet types
    • U-tube – Configurations a, b, c, d, e, and f
    • Fixed – Configurations a, b, c, and d
    • Floating – Stationary configurations a, b, c, d, e, and f; Floating configurations A, B, C, and D
  • Full design flexibility of UHX
    • Consideration of integral channels and shells
    • Consideration of integral hemispherical channels
    • Elastic plastic calculations for U-Tube and Fixed configurations with integral channels and/or shells
    • Radial differential thermal calculations for Fixed and Floating configurations with integral channels and/or shells
    • Shell bands for Fixed tubesheet configurations
Tube to Tubesheet Welds
  • Calculations per Part UHX & Appendix A
Thin-Walled Expansion Joints
  • Calculations per Appendix 26
Thick-Walled Expansion Joints
  • Determiniation of allowable stresses and equivalent cylindrical shell requirements for the following per Appendix 5
    • Flanged & Flued
    • Flanged only
  • Determination of pressure and thermal stresses per Kopp and Sayre paper as well as axial rigidity
  • Determination of allowable fatigue cycles per previous code versions
Heate Exchanger Setup
  • Fast vessel design
    • Easy heat exchanger design based on standard TEMA configurations
    • Simply pick the components from a list, and the program creates the heat exchanger for you
    • Tweak a few variables and your design is completed
Tube Database
  • Standard tubes included
  • Easily design custom tubes per UG-27 & UG-28
Loading conditions
  • Multiple conditions can be tested with a single setup
  • User definable custom loading conditions
Reports
  • A.P.V. has the most clear, concise, well thought out reports in the industry
  • Calculations are shown in their original algebraic format
  • Reports include the appropriate Code formulas with the proper design values inserted and results (great for inspectors, customers, & QC/QA personnel)
  • Report sections can be re-ordered and added or removed from the report as needed (i.e. reviewing the nozzle report)
  • Reports may be printed, viewed on screen, or save them as a PDF (for email, electronic storage, use on a secure intranet, etc.)
Minimum System Requirements
  • A current version of Advanced Pressure Vessel (or Pressure Vessel Suite)
    • Module is installed at the time of A.P.V. installation and is activated when purchased
